How to Keep Your Candles Lasting Longer

Candles are not only a source of light, but also a means of creating atmosphere and relaxation in your home. To enjoy their scent and light as much as possible, follow the tips below.
1. Keep candles away from heat and light
Direct exposure to sunlight or heated areas can cause the wax to melt prematurely and lose its fragrance. Store in a cool, dark place, away from radiators and windows.
2. Cut the wicks before use
Before lighting a candle, make sure the wick is about 0.5 cm tall. A large or poorly cut wick can cause higher wax consumption, smoke, and uneven burning.
3. Let the wax melt evenly
When lighting a candle for the first time, let it melt all the way to the edge of the container. This helps prevent the candle from forming a "tube" and ensures an even burn every time you use it.
4. Avoid extinguishing by blowing
Blowing can cause wax droplets and shorten the life of the wick. Use a lid or special extinguishing tool to extinguish the candle safely.
5. Store them correctly
- Seal candles in containers or bags to prevent dust from entering.
- Store them in an upright position to prevent them from becoming deformed.
6. Choose quality candles
The quality of the wax and wick significantly affects the duration and intensity of the fragrance. Natural candles with cotton or wood wicks usually burn more slowly and evenly than cheap paraffin candles.
7. Use of short time intervals
Instead of leaving a candle burning for hours at a time, light it for 1–2 hours at a time. This will help the candle retain its shape and scent for longer.
With these simple tips, your candles will last longer, retain their scent, and create the ideal atmosphere in your home.
